Borneo Neighborhood, located in Amsterdam, is a residential neighborhood with very compact dwellings where the architectural challenge is to find the optimal use of the space. The project I performed in this place is a center where the Galician Culture is expressed and explained, so it is a building which represents Galicia in the city of Amsterdam. The planned building has the access from a public exterior square. When we come to, we come across a very open space that is used as a lobby and distributes alongside with the other spaces. On the one hand, in the basement, we find the Galician museum area. We access to this floor from the lobby by a series of stepped platforms which go down around a courtyard. On the other hand, on the first floor it is located a little library where we can read about the Galician literature. There is also a large staggered volume that crosses longitudinally the building from one façade to the other, which is used to give lessons and conferences.
